Work Diary Shoot 4

In todays shoot I went out with the intention of focusing on reflecting evidence through tracks and growth in my images. I was very successful and was able to find many examples of tracks from people and cars. I was able to find more examples of evidence in graffiti and litter during the shoot.

I chose this image because it shows evidence of tracks. The image uses a contrast of black and white in the image in order to make the image more striking. We can see that the water on the form shows that a person had previously walked in from the rain and under shelter. The light being shone across the surface of the floor creates the effect of form, by enhancing the shadows. By enhancing the shadows, the detail of the texture is enhanced. The black and white filter helps to enhance some of the detail within the image as well as the contrast among other formal elements.

I chose this image because it shows an example of evidence in the form of a tire track. This image shows how a car has drove through the wet mud and has created a pattern in the dirt. The texture of the mud is emphasised in a way that allows audiences to realise that the tracks have come from a tire. Another formal element featured within this image is contrast. The colour of the green grass acts in contrast with the colour of the mud. This shows further elements that the grass has been drove over by a car, causing the contrast to appear.

Progression:

In my other shoots I would like to focus on one topic. I would like to explore evidence in nature and growth. I believe I could show this through a focus on plantlife and contrasts or urban areas and nature.
